I am an Assistant Professor of Information Science at Northgate University, where I direct the Distribution Lab. I study how information moves: who carries it, what it costs to carry, and which parts of the public end up outside the range of any carrier at all.
My current work is about infrastructure rather than content. Newsrooms, recommender systems, and postal routes are all distribution technologies, and they fail in patterned ways that show up long before anyone notices a change in what people believe.
Before Northgate I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Media Systems Group at Ashford, and I hold a PhD in Information Science and an MS in Statistics.
